TWIN PEAKS - A 25 Year Flashback!!

Here's what's on The Dungeon Saturday Night Special Menu this evening, and what with all that is going on today, I call it "Twin Preakness Alacarte!"
I just watched the whole original "Twin Peaks" show over the last couple of months, without even knowing there was going to be a 25 year return show until I was well into it. I have never got excited because there was a new "Star Wars movie coming out, but the thought of  "Twin Peaks" being revisited was something I decided I was really looking forward to, but then I found out it was only on Showtime, so for $13.99 a month, I'm going to get to see it! It better be good, but with David Lynch at the helm, I have no doubt it will be interesting or just down right weird on multiple levels, and it starts tomorrow night at 9:00 PM!
So, in the words of the late great Red Ingle, "Rosin on the bow, and here we go," again!

I haven't delved into whatever the story is, but I do know that by looking at IMDB, that there is a core cast for the entire series that was also from the original series, and that's my focus, because I don't know anything else, except the rest of the new cast is huge, with some cool names, but most all of them are only in one episode, which is also the case with the rest of the original cast members, they are in only one episode! So first up, of course, is Kyle MacLachlan as Agent Dale Cooper

Here's where we left our erstwhile hero some 25 years ago!

Other cast members that get credit in all 18 episodes of the new series are The whole Palmer family, even though two thirds of them are dead!
Sheryl Lee as Laura Palmer!

Grace Zabriskie as Sarah Palmer!

And Ray Wise as Leland Palmer!

It looks like a lot of the new story will be wrapped around the relationship between Bobby (Dana Ashbrook) and Shelly (Mädchen Amick), and why not, they were some of the younger cast members who survived 25 years ago!

Here are some of the many faces of Mädchen !

And here's what you can expect from Dana!

Everett McGill will be back as Big Ed Hurley in every episode!

Kimmy Robertson as Lucy Moran will also be back for all 18 episodes!

And last, but by no means least, is Russ Tamblyn as the colourful Dr. Lawrence Jacoby, who will also be in all 18 episodes!

The new series left a lot of amazingly good-lookin' and talented women behind like one of my favourites Peggy Lipton, so it should be interesting to see how David Lynch fills in all those holes!

Amy Shiels will be filling one of those holes as the only new full time cast member.
Amy will be in 16 of the 18 episodes!

Downright freakin' amazing really!! With 25 years of new technology at his fingertips, it should be quite interesting to see what Mr. Lynch has in store for us all!! Since it's not on regular network TV this go round, it should be a no holds barred affair, so be prepared for anything!!

SCREAM, BLACULA, SCREAM / AIP - 1973

I posted BLACULA earlier this month, so, it's time for SCREAM, BLACULA, SCREAM! The story goes like this... After a dying Voodoo Queen chooses an adopted apprentice as her successor, her true heir, Willis, is outraged because of the actions.

Seeking revenge, Willis buys the bones of Blacula off of a dealer, and uses voodoo to bring the vampire back to do his bidding. But, Blacula turns him into a vampire, making him his slave!

Blacula is played by William (King of Cartoons on Peewee's Playhouse) Marshall, who obviously has a great sense of humor! Pam (THE TWILIGHT PEOPLE, FOXY BROWN, SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES) Grier plays Lisa, the adopted apprentice.

Willis is now Blacula's helper, a reverse of what he thought would happen after raising him from the dead. Check out those super cool threads Willis is wearing!

Here's Blacula visiting an antique shop with Lisa and friends, looking for voodoo related items.

When Blacula needs to get across town quickly, he uses the Batway Express!

It doesn't take long for Blacula and Willis to get a pack of vampires to haunt his mansion!

This pimp learns things the hard way, he's king of the roost until Blacula walks in on him stealing a drink and ordering one of the vampire girls around! Again, cool ass clothes...

Blacula's mansion turns into a fun house of terror with lots of voodoo hoodoo!

Our hero Justin Carter brings in his crossbow with poison arrows to neutralize the vampires. Willis and his ghoulfiend get it good and both go down for the count!

Blacula shows up to even the score. Here, he shoves a cop through the front door glass!

When Blacula gets his hands around Justin's neck, Lisa grabs Blacula's voodoo doll, and...

She stabs the crap out of it and sends the evil vampire back to the land of the dead!!.. Tune in tomorrow when Eegah!! will bring us something special...

THE STORY OF "LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD" - Ray Harryhausen (1949)

Here's a bit of Wednesday Weirdness for you, one of a handful of classic tales that were made into stop-motion cartoons by one of the greatest talents in film history, Mr. Ray Harryhausen! My favourite Ray Harryhausen film will always be "The 7th Voyage Of Sinbad,"  but that's not to take away from all his other awesome work like "Earth Vs. The Flying Saucers," or "20 Million Miles To Earth," or "Mysterious Island," or "Jason And The Argonauts" etc. etc. etc.

Seven Credits! Es Todo! That's All! Amazing, and it's really only 5 or 6 because Jerome Wray was also Ray Harryhausen, and I don't think Cinesound counts either, so basically Ray did everything except the narration and the costumes!

Red's Mom says, "Just stay on the path!"

Red's thinking, "Too many rules!"

Looks like a Maxfield Parrish painting!

Red senses trouble! I see flying saucers landing in the background!

And what the heck is this place Ray?  It looks like Oz, or Xanadu in the background!

Oh, No, it's not aliens, it's a talking wolf!

Why the wolf didn't eat Red right then and there is anybody's guess, that's the biggest mystery to me!

So the wolf goes directly to Grandma's house!

"Is anybody home?"

"Oh, No, It's a Wolf!"

I never have found the story of Little Red Riding Hood to be very credible!!
"Grandma, what big teeth you have!" Really? And what about that wolfy breath? Grandma, can I get you a breath mint?  I think the part they never told you about this story is that Little Red Riding Hood is physically impaired, because she obviously can't see, hear, or smell!

That's as good of a "The End" as you're ever likely to see, and that's right where I'll leave you!
