A Freakin' Merry LOST IN SPACE Xmas! / The Toymaker - 1967

Well, I ended up with the Xmas day posting this year, I literally pulled this one out of my.. Err... Knot hole! Just got this set this week, and, I found this LOST IN SPACE episode actually had an Xmas tie in, soooo... Happy Newk Year, Ever'bloody!

I have a sound clip for your approval, sooooo, you can push the big red 'GO' button located there by our mile high coal pile, NOW, Rufus The Gnat!.. Here are some Xmas sounds from... THE TOYMAKER!

The story starts with Will and Dr. Smith coming across a strange machine just sitting in the middle of nowhere! They figure out it's some kind of toy dispenser.

The robot warns Dr. Smith to quit screwing around, but, NOOO!.. Again, he's sure he's the only one that knows what they're doing, a reoccurring fatal flaw of his.

Some of the technology on this show requires an ample helping of your suspended disbelief. Anyway, Dr. Smith disappears into the big box and Will runs back to the ship to tell his mommy!

So, mom goes and tells dad and Major West all about another problem caused by Dr. Smith. As always, they have to stop what they're doing (usually some life or death situation) and help.

In the meantime, Will runs back to the box and, what else, gets himself trapped in there too.

They meet up with O. M. (Old Man), played by Walter (JACK THE GIANT KILLER) Burke. He's friendly but a little kookie! And, he doesn't like Dr. Smith.

Love these two shots, a typical device the men used throughout the series, this time used to lower some dynamite into a crevasse and then Professor Robinson with the robot, in red.

Back in the toy factory, Will hears some Xmas noises coming from behind a boarded up area. The little beaver tears a plank off and him and Dr. Smith watch the festivities back on Earth!

But, one of the old toymaker's wind up monsters is on the prowl and corners the two. The despicable doctor uses Will as a human shield yet again when faced with any type of danger!

The owner of the toy machine, Fritz (mouth pop, heal click) Feld, shows up and everything turns out hunky dory, except for Dr. Smith...

Professor Robinson invites everyone to go fishing to celebrate the event!.. A Merry Xmas to all, and to all, see you tomorrow!

THE CAPTAIN AND THE KIDS - "The Captain's Christmas" (1938)

Well, this will be my last Christmas post for 2015, so Ho, Ho, Ho, here they are:
THE CAPTAIN AND THE KIDS!!

"The Captain's Christmas" is another oddball cartoon from the likes of MGM Studios in 1938!

It's the night before Christmas and The Captain is dressed up like Santa Claus, and is getting ready to deliver all his gifts to the kids!

But John Silver spots him and he and his cronies come up with another idea!

John Silver robs the Captain of everything! It's not real clear what his specific goals are!

Now dressed up in the Captain's Santa Claus outfit, a maniacal John Silver almost falls off the roof!

When he finally makes it into the house, the fall kind of jangles his brain up, and he doesn't know what the Hell he's doing any more!

John Silver as Santa Claus is out of control, and he starts shooting up everything in sight!

He's literally gone berserk!

And he ends up destroying all of the kid's toys in the process!
What a yo-yo!

But then John Silver's little peg-legged conscience gets to him!

So he gathers up all his buddies, and they do a musical number in the streets to try and get money to buy new toys for the kids!

Their singing skills are not really appreciated by the locals who start pitching all kinds of stuff out the windows at them. Eventually they start throwing toys, and the guys gather them all up to deliver to the kids!

This still of all the toys being dropped down the chimney cracks me up because I can't figure out what the barrel of oil is for!

The kids are now in Christmas toy heaven!

And John Silver's conscience is now completely clear!
(Even though he should be really serving 15 years to life by today's standards!)
That's it for me kids!
Merry Christmas, Merry Merry Christmas!!

GOKE, BODY SNATCHER FROM HELL / Shôchiku Eiga - 1968

I looked through all my DVDs looking for more Xmas episodes and got whammied! So, here's just an early Xmas present, I recently picked up the excellent Criterion set WHEN HORROR CAME TO SHOCHIKU, four movies from that alternative Japanese production company. This is the original 84 minute Japanese version.

This passenger plane encounters a UFO after being hit by a flock of birds. Just after the UFO nearly hits the plane, the plane goes down...

I have a sonic meat grinder sound clip for your approval, sooooo, you can push the big red 'GO' button located there by our UFO ride, NOW, Ralphie The Tarantula!.. Here's a little sample from... GOKE, BODY SNATCHER FROM HELL!

Of course, the plane crashes in a mountainous area, miles away from civilization. A political assassin onboard the plane grabs a woman as a hostage and takes off, hoofing it.

So, the two encounter a weird UFO and try to get away, but, something wants the assassin.

Inside the ship, the assassin gets a slimy visit from this cute little space blob!

In shock, the woman goes back to the crashed plane. In order to find out what has happened, one guy hypnotizes her and she tells them about the blob that entered the assassin's head!

It's time for Blobbie to spread the disease, so, the assassin goes back to the plane. After the thing oozes out of the body, the body quickly decomposes!

And, guess where it's headed?!.. Right into the plane full of stranded peoples, where else!

Just wanted to show this cool shot of the next infected guy that gets clocked by a boulder!

Anyway, he heads back to the saucer where the blob leaves his body...

And, he decomposes to ultimately become a buncha' old dust in the wind!

The invasion has begun and Earthlings don't seem to be doing that great against the blobs.

Here's a shot of some of the thousands of UFOs headed to Earth as I write, just in time to ruin Xmas for all the kiddies!
